Mexican talent Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates) delivered another remarkable performance, claiming second place in Stage 2 of Tirreno-Adriatico behind winner Mathieu van der Poel. The challenging 206.16-kilometer stage from Camaiore to San Gimignano saw an intense battle in the final kilometers.

Stage Battle

Wet conditions made the stage particularly demanding, especially across the gravel sections that dotted the route. The challenging terrain and weather set the stage for what would become a thrilling finale, with three riders emerging at the front to contest the victory.

Sprint Finish

In the closing moments, del Toro found himself in an elite group alongside van der Poel and Giulio Pellizzari. The young Mexican showed impressive tactical awareness and strength, matching the pace of his more experienced rivals. Van der Poel ultimately proved strongest in the sprint, with del Toro crossing the line on the same time as the winner after 4 hours, 53 minutes, and 23 seconds of racing.
