Race leader Isaac del Toro will look to secure his first WorldTour stage race victory as the 2026 Tirreno-Adriatico concludes with a challenging 142-kilometer stage from Civitanova Marche to San Benedetto del Tronto.
Stage Profile and Key Challenges
The final stage features two significant mid-race climbs that could prove decisive. Riders will first tackle the Montefiore dell’Aso, a 10.9-kilometer ascent averaging 3.4%, followed by the steeper Ripatransone climb extending 8.5 kilometers at 4.6%. After these challenges, the race will conclude with five laps of a flat circuit in San Benedetto del Tronto, covering the final 14.5 kilometers.
Del Toro’s Path to Victory
The Mexican sensation from UAE Team Emirates enters the final day with a commanding 42-second advantage in the general classification. The relatively benign profile of today’s stage should favor del Toro’s defensive strategy, though his team will need to remain vigilant on the mid-stage climbs where rivals might attempt to launch attacks.
Final Stage Battle
While the flat finish circuit suggests a potential bunch sprint, the two categorized climbs could inspire aggressive racing from teams looking to upset del Toro’s lead. The stage will begin at 12:30 CET, with an expected finish around 15:45 CET. The total elevation gain of 1,135 meters adds enough complexity to keep the race interesting until the very end.
All eyes will be on the 21-year-old Mexican as he attempts to add his name to the prestigious list of Tirreno-Adriatico champions in what could be a defining moment in his young career.
