Del Toro Maintains Third Place and White Jersey After Stage 9 Finish

Isaac del Toro delivered a solid performance in Stage 9 of the Tour de France, finishing 13th in the shortened stage from Malemort to Ussel. The UAE Team Emirates rider maintained his third position in the general classification while retaining the coveted white jersey as the race’s best young rider.

Stage 9 Results

Mathieu Van der Poel claimed victory in the 154.6-kilometer stage, which was shortened by 30 kilometers due to extreme heat conditions. Del Toro crossed the finish line just six seconds behind the stage winner, demonstrating his ability to stay competitive with the peloton’s fastest finishers.

General Classification Standing

The Mexican rider’s 13th-place finish allowed him to preserve his position on the overall podium, sitting third in the general classification with a time gap of 3 minutes and 27 seconds to the race leader. This performance ensures del Toro remains well-positioned as the Tour de France approaches its second week.

White Jersey Secured

Del Toro’s consistent performance throughout the opening stages has established him as the clear leader in the young rider classification. His retention of the white jersey after Stage 9 reinforces his status as one of cycling’s most promising talents and positions him as a key contender for the final white jersey in Paris.

With the race entering more challenging terrain in the coming stages, del Toro’s ability to maintain his podium position while managing the demands of leading the youth classification will be crucial for UAE Team Emirates’ overall Tour ambitions.
