The UAE Team Emirates rider launched two attacks in the final kilometer of the 183.9km mountain stage, attempting to drop race leader Remco Evenepoel. Despite his aggressive tactics, del Toro was unable to shake the Belgian and crossed the line six seconds behind stage winner Evenepoel, securing a valuable podium finish.

The Mexican climber’s strong performance elevated him to third place in the general classification and saw him reclaim the white jersey as the race’s best young rider.

Evenepoel Outsprints Pogacar

Remco Evenepoel claimed his first stage victory of the 2026 Tour de France, outsprinting Tadej Pogacar in the final meters to the Plateau de Solaison summit. The Soudal Quick-Step leader and Pogacar finished on the same time, with the stage win maintaining Evenepoel’s overall lead.
